“The Health, Mental Health, and Social Service Needs of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in California” (2022)

AAPI Data, in partnership with the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research, has released a new report using currently available data to benchmark the current health, mental health, and social service needs of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders in California. The report pulls data from the 2019 and 2020 California Health Interview Survey (CHIS) and the Census Bureau’s 2016–2020 American Community Survey, to highlight diversity and needs of California’s fastest growing population groups.

“We Can Do This” – COVID-19 Campaign

As part of the We Can Do This, COVID-19 campaign, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is sharing a Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum-produced guide that contains links crowdsourced by community members, leaders, and national and community-based organizations that are actively working to improve the well-being of AA and NH/PI communities while keeping language access barriers in mind.

2015 State of Asian American & Pacific Islander Health in Houston / Harris County & Surrounding Areas

The Houston Health Department, in collaboration with the Asian American Health Coalition and the Harris County Public Health Department, released a 2015 report on the health status of Asian American and Pacific Islander Health in Houston and Harris Counties.

A Community of Contrasts: AANHPIs in the West

Collaborative report containing disaggregated data to describe the languages, education, income, and more of Asian Americans and Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders in Arizona, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Oregon, and Seattle.

AA and NH/PI Project Firstline

Project Firstline is a collaborative of diverse healthcare, public health and academic partners committed to providing infection control training designed especially for healthcare workers. The Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) is coordinating with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)'s Project Firstline and several Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander partner organizations to prepare frontline healthcare workers and the public health workforce to protect themselves, their patients, and their communities from infectious disease threats. This resource site contains in-language resources and trainings available in Bengali, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Tagalog, Vietnamese, Hmong, Samoan, and  Tongan.

AAPI COVID-19 Needs Assessment Project

The Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander COVID-19 Needs Assessment Project is a project led by researchers of color, centering communities of color, championed by Congressional members of color including the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, and advocated and administered by National Urban League, a national civil rights organization that serves communities of color. The aims of this initiative are to conduct timely, policy-relevant, in-language research to assess the needs and impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities in the United States.
