Womankind was founded in 1982 as the New York Asian Women’s Center, only 6 years after the first domestic violence shelter opened in New York City. Womankind strives towards reducing inequality and inequity in our society by providing REFUGE, RECOVERY & RENEWAL to survivors of trauma.
